Have you ever wondered what's happening to the space between Lakeside Retirement and the Library's Lakeshore Branch? Well we have awesome news. We're developing a "downtown" Town Square like no other. Over the years, we've heard our residents loud and clear - you want more fun things to do close to home. Through the Town Square Public Engagement we heard that you wanted more places for social interaction, a splash pad in Alcona, a skating trail, and more unique spaces for you to enjoy. Whether that be a spot to have a picnic with your family, go for a walk with friends, or simply hangout reading a book, we have a spot for you.
This project will be a space for all Innisfil residents and guests, it will provide an additional public space for our growing community to allow residents more options to enjoy the outdoors and socially distance. It could also be the home of a celebration of people coming back together after this pandemic to rejoice the human connection and the importance of community.
The Park design can be seen below and in the Document Library.
The Town has awarded the Design through the Design Build contract to Rutherford Contracting Ltd.
Construction commenced June 14, 2021
The project is scheduled to be complete September 2022 with the Ice Rink open for the 2022/2023 Winter Season.
The project will include the following:
Refrigerated skating trail
Fire Pit
Stage and event space
Splash Pad
Playground
Trails
Washroom and Concession Stand
