Updates to the Proposal

A virtual (online) public meeting was held on August 19, 2020. The proposal was adopted by Council on September 23, 2020 and approved by County of Simcoe October 13 2020 subject to an appeal period ending November 9 2020. Applications to amend the Official Plan (D09-2020-003) and Zoning by-Law (D14-2020-002) have been received to remove the occupancy restrictions for the Resort Residential Units in Friday Harbour. The change would allow owners to occupy the Resort Residential Units for up to 365 days a year.

Currently restrictions exist on how long a unit can be occupied by an owner (e.g. maximum 300 days a year, maximum 185 consecutive days). No changes are proposed to the development itself, including number of resort residential units, hotel units, or minimum requirements for recreational or commercial facilities.
