We're revitalizing Innisfil Beach Park! Council approved the Final Concept for Innisfil Beach Park in May 2023, which contains nearly 50 projects.

Planned over three phases, improvements will upgrade existing amenities, ease traffic congestion, and introduce new amenities in underutilized sections of the park. After years of planning, public engagement, and design, construction has started on Phase 1 improvements.

Phase 1 Construction - Construction May 2025 to October 2026

The park remains open during construction, with temporary closures and staged construction zones allowing residents and visitors to continue enjoying its diverse recreational offerings.

Phase 1 works include:

  • New Park Exit: Includes a 2-metre off-road trail along a new park exit road that intersects 25th Sideroad.
  • Washroom Pavilion: This will replace the previous trailer washroom near the existing playground. Facilities will exceed accessibility (AODA) requirements and include men's and women's facilities, two universal washrooms, and outdoor showers.
  • Playground and Courts: A natural toddler playground, two new volleyball courts with connecting pathways
  • New Off-Leash Dog Area: Installation of a new off-leash dog area with water access at the east point of the park (now open).
  • Pickleball and Tennis Courts: Construction of 4 dedicated tennis courts and 6 pickleball courts (moved up from Phase 2 as per DSR-067-25).
  • Turning Circle: A vehicle pick-up/drop-off turning circle located adjacent to the newly built washroom pavilion.
  • Infrastructure Upgrades: Water and sanitary upgrades with provisions for future park amenities.
  • Drainage Enhancements: Installation of Low Impact Development (LID) drainage swales.

Phase 1 also includes various beach improvements:

  • Beach 2:
    • Expanded beach
    • Accessible beach paths
  • Beaches 3 and 4:
    • Merged to form a larger beach
    • Accessible beach paths
  • Beach 5 (now underway)
    • Expanded beach with dune grasses
      Accessible beach paths
  • Beach 6 (now underway)
    • Converting the existing dog beach back to a public beach

Seating and trail improvements include:

  • New park benches
  • Existing trail to Robert Road replaced with a meandering trail, ranging from 3.5 m to over 4 m in width
  • Bike racks in the shape of plants
  • Water/electrical connections for future pop-up shop areas

Additional structures and improvements:

  • Stormwater outlet enhancements
  • Two new 3-metre pedestrian bridges
  • Replacement of an existing road culvert with a new 6.25-metre bridge

Phase 2 - Proposed Design 2028/2029, Construction 2029/2030

  • New park entrance with roundabout*
  • New skate park*
  • New pump track*
  • New basketball courts*
  • New winterized washroom facility*
  • Potential covered dome over existing courts and add a clubhouse
  • New community garden
  • Relocated motorized boat launch and short-term slips and dredging in Lake Simcoe to accommodate the necessary depth for boats
  • Landscaping, drainage improvements, and planting of trees

* Requires relocation of baseball diamond off-site prior to construction

Phase 3 - Proposed Design 2033/2034, Construction 2035/2036

  • New event plaza with seasonal ice rink and splash pad
  • New restaurant and outdoor deck
  • New winterized washroom
  • New separate park entrance to boat launch
  • New non-motorized watercraft rental and rental dock
  • Completion of trail connections through all spaces
  • Landscaping, drainage improvements, and planting of trees
