Snow Angels

Snow Angels is back! Our Snow Angels recognition program is back in full swing to promote winter safety and neighbours helping neighbours. We want to celebrate those neighbours you know and love - the ones who spend the extra time and go out of their way to help others after a snowfall. We also want to preserve the small-town charm in Innisfil. With a community as dispersed as ours, the on the ground local connection we have to one another is critical to not only our well-being, but our safety as well.

Want to help?
Do you have neighbours who may need assistance with shoveling their sidewalk or driveway? Or maybe you're just feeling extra helpful? Why not be a “Snow Angel” and shovel for them? This is a great way to get exercise, help out others, and be a downright awesome neighbour.

1. Your Story - Let us know how your neighbour rocks and why they deserve to be an official snow angel.
2. Package Delivery - Once you've shared your story, complete the form below to let us know where to send your recognition package. Once submitted, we will mail out your envelope to give to your snow angel!

    The Little Things....

    by mmckay, 6 months ago

Our neighbour (who actually lives a few streets over from us) always helps us as well as other neighbours during the dreaded winter months. Chris Hoffe is a Snow Angel because it's the little things that really make people's days brighter. Whether you come home to a fully plowed driveway or just the nasty bit that the plow leaves behind, it's always nice to know that your neighbour is thinking about your family. We wish to thank Chris for taking the time to help us and others in the community. Bravo!

    Great Neighbours!

by Shirley Kennedy, 6 months ago

Our wonderful neighbours deserve a special thank you as I can't say enough about their thoughtfulness. They are truly a gift in itself all year round.

In spring and summer they cut grass, trim edges and clean up. In fall it's the leaves and in winter, the snow. If we are away, our driveway is cleared and our walkway shovelled. Our paper is picked up and weekly it's a race to pick up our recycling and compost bins.

They, together, keep watch over our neighbourhood in a respectful way.

Thank you just never seems enough.

I hereby nominate both Lou... Continue reading

    Snow angel of the year

    by Nelmathews, 6 months ago

My father in law is a saint. Every snow fall I see him shoveling our driveway and many of our neighbours who are at work or on vacation. He does this every snow fall, even with a bad hip and leg. As many times as we tell him not to for health reasons, he's still out there helping everyone.. He deserves a medal and all the love a man can handle xo

    Best neighbour in town!!

    by Zimpy, 6 months ago

Our neighbor always has our driveway cleared usually even before we get home. When he doesnt know is I have arthritis in my spine and my husband has a hernia so it makes it very difficult for us to shovel. He just does it out of the kindness of his heart. We always make an effort to thank him and let him know he really doesnt have to, but he always does it anyway. Thank you Steve for your kindness. We appreciate it more than you know!

    Just like his Dad !

    by Jendown84, 6 months ago

On a quiet Street in Cookstown lived a Husband and father of 3 , who for 11 years would use his skid steer to make sure the neighbours had their driveway clear , he was known as the snow angel on Elizabeth to some .
on March 10th 2019 he left this world to become an Angel and left behind his wife and 3 small children.

His middle child Wesley ( 9) has taken over the reins and has been trying his hardest to fill his dads shoes . He takes his shovel and helps clear the neighbours driveways as... Continue reading

    Thanks Rusty!

    by Himandher, 6 months ago

I’d like to take a moment to thank our neighbour Rod, aka: Rusty! He came over and did our driveway as my husband was about to go out to clear it away himself. Rusty had it done before my husband knew it. I was at work at the time.

We try and help each other out when the snow comes. Even if it’s just the bottom of the driveway after the plow goes by. it means a lot to have him as a neighbour and friend!

    Rusty to the rescue!

    Mr. SnowmanPapa...

    by rosemary12385, 6 months ago

My God... This little community has amazed me in so many ways... Thank you All for welcoming us.

My reason of this particular Snow Angel, that caught my attention, is a few houses over and across the street from me.

There's a grandpa... Whom has been shoveling not ONLY his own home, but our fellow neighbors whom were on vacay a few weeks back... I thought maybe they had hired someone while they are not around (till this big dump started yesterday), he is still at it... Saw him this morning, he mentioned, that he had did ours along with... Acts of kindness

    by Amy.suzie, 6 months ago

I just needed to come on here and tell about my neighbours. We have a lovely couple a few doors down and they always go out of their way to help us.

Just recently he had a heart attack and was in the hospital for a few days. He is better but has just snowblowed our driveway out (I will be speaking with him later and asking him if he really should be doing it!!!)

He just does random acts of kindness and I think this story should be shared to show people the world isn't always full of jerks... Continue reading
