Snow Angels

The Town is launching a community driven Snow Angels program to promote winter safety and neighbours helping neighbours. We want to celebrate those neighbours you know and love - the ones who spend the extra time and go out of their way to help others after a snowfall. We also want to preserve the small-town charm in Innisfil. With a community as dispersed as ours, the on the ground local connection we have to one another is critical to not only our well-being, but our safety as well.

Want to help?
Do you have neighbours who may need assistance with shoveling their sidewalk or driveway? Or maybe you're just feeling extra helpful? Why not be a “Snow Angel” and shovel for them? This is a great way to get exercise, help out others, and be a downright awesome neighbour.

Want to recognize someone? Here's all you have to do!
1. Your Story - Let us know how your neighbour rocks and why they deserve to be an official snow angel.
2. Package Delivery - Once you've shared your story, complete the form below to let us know where to send your recognition package. Once submitted, we will mail out your envelope to give to your snow angel!

  • The Nicest Neighbours

by Steven Robertson, 1 day ago

My story is about two of the nicest neighbours a man could ask for. Steve and Mary-Ellen always make an effort to be friendly and kind - never hesitating to lend a hand or even tools if ever needed. I want them to know that I am thankful to have them as my neighbours and their kindness doesn't go unnoticed!

Everytime there has been a snow storm over the countless years we have been neighbours, Steve has always made the effort to come across the road and make sure our driveway was ploughed too.

So grateful to have the nicest... Continue reading

  • An awesome young man

by Jean M, 4 days ago

Tyler age 13 cleans my driveway either with a snowblower or with a shovel Even as a little fellow he helped his Dad do the job and now he does it on his own. I can always count on him to get the job done.

He is a busy young fellow with lots of sports and extra circular activities but always has time to do my driveway

He is a credit to our neighbourhood and he gets my vote for an amazing snow angel

    Thanks Tyler Routheut

  • So grateful!

    by Juliesandhar, 4 days ago

I am so fortunate to have my in-laws living a few doors away for so many reasons.

It’s not uncommon for me to hear the rumbling of my father in-law’s snowblower early in the morning as he comes to clear my driveway and brush off my car before I leave for work. He then goes up the road to clear my neighbours driveway too. Truthfully I should be the one clearing the snow for him. Sincerest thanks Roger Johnson. I am so grateful for my “Snow Angel”!!!

Jose (Joe) Is our neighborhood Snow Angel. Without even asking, Joe is always lending a hand during the bad weather. 2 winters ago, even with a leg injury, he would go house to house and clear everyone's driveways. No matter how bad the snow is falling, you will see Joe out there snow blowing away neighbors driveways and always with a smile.

  • Ryan the Angel

    by Kim793, 4 days ago

To start with, we have a huge driveway and when that Plow comes by we’re left with a ton of snow that just can’t be moved!  My husband has a bad hip and shovelling snow is a non-no for him. I’ve been dealing with Achilles tendonitis and so haven’t been much help either. Ryan is my son in law and they live next door.   After a long day of work he does their driveway then always comes over and shovels us out.   We never have to ask him for help - he just does it with a smile!... • Best neighbors!

Our neighbours have frequently plowed our driveway when we have been to busy with a baby! It's been wonderful to live in such a great community where neighbours are always willing to help :)

  • Best Neighbour You Could Ask For!

    by Jbulgin89, 5 days ago

My wife and I bought a house in Lefroy just over 4 years ago. Since then we have only shoveled our driveway maybe 5 times thanks to our incredible neighbour Walter! Both my wife and I are shift workers and work near the airport. After a 12 hour shift plus 3 hours of driving (in bad weather), we are always so relieved to come home and find our driveway cleared! Not having to spend that extra hour with the shovel having to get up at 4:30am again the next day is so incredible! We are not the only driveway that... Continue reading

  • Worlds Greatest

My neighbour Paul has been an angel this year and every year. I live with my parents and am not always home to do the driveway for them. My mother has multiple sclerosis and my dad had a major shoulder surgery this summer and has taken a long time to recover. Paul is forever doing the driveway for them and helping them with their vehicles if something goes wrong. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of recognition then my neighbor Paul. There isn’t anything he wouldn’t do to help someone else.

  • Awesome husband

    by Himandher, 6 days ago

I just want to put this out there that my wonderful husband has gone above and beyond last year by taking care of four driveways.  The neighbours are awesome that we have, but some work different hours and he did this a few times for the one as the neighbour works shifts.  Who wants to come home from afternoons or midnights to take care of the driveway?  So he has done this one driveway a few times so that this person doesn’t have to after a long shift and a long drive home.

  • Can You Believe this Guy?

    by Sharonw, 6 days ago

Our Snow Angel surely is our neighbor, Pat Ryan on Church Drive in Lefroy. After each snowfall, he arrives with his Side by side and cleans our drive. This started when my husband had heart surgery five years ago and has not stopped. If I happen to go out to start shoveling, he swoops in behind me and waves me away. Pat also cleans the United Church parking lot on our street and this alone is worthy of an extra star in his crown.

When I offer to pay Pat, his sweet reply is, we’ll think about it.

    Pat is... Continue reading
