Thank you to everyone who participated and lent a hand to their neighbours this winter season. Our Snow Angels program was a great success and we were so pleased to see our community come together. We look forward to launching the program again next winter and hope you continue to help one another no matter the season

This neighbor is one street over and always seems to make an effort to clear a path through a walkway that connects our street to his. My kids go to Holy Cross and the walkway is our main walking route. This neighbor has frequently plowed a path after snowfalls which is truly appreciated! I have two little ones that struggle walking through deep snow, never mind walking all the way round our crescent and up the street. By clearing a path throughthe walkway he make mine and my kid’s day. Thank you so very much!

  • Absolutely The BEST Neighbours!!!

    by Tangogrey, 2 months ago

My next door neighbours are absolutely the BEST! Bart has not only been helping me with my snow for years, but now that his son is older, that awesome little man is even coming over on his own to offer his help too! Being older and somewhat physically 'challenged', it's very hard for me to manage especially the extra large bank of snow and frozen ice the plows leave behind on the end of my driveway because of the inside curve I live on, BUT they have done even more to often shovel out my front walkway as well!...which is... • My Husband, My Angel

    by SLaflamme09, 2 months ago

Some say it’s cliche, but my husband is truly the kindest man I have ever met. He is gone for 10 hours a day and still makes a point to keep our driveway clean as well as our surrounding neighbours, especially when the plow has gone by! He doesn’t even think twice about it, he just does what needs to be done and I am beyond grateful for him!

Unfortunately our elderly neighbour recently passed away. However, his family has been upkeeping his home. Despite their heart ache they always shovel or pole our part of the sidewalk when it hasn’t already been done. It’s always much appreciated!

  • Great Neighbour

This gift is going to my neighbour.  Every time he snow blows his driveway, he also does ours.  You would think this is a simple thing, because our driveways are attached.  But let me tell you, this is amazing for us.  We have two small children, and one of us works shifts.  We are almost never home, and when we are, we are exhausted.  He is amazing, and we make sure to always thank him when we see him.  This gift is much deserved.

  • A REAL Good Samaritan!

    by Tangogrey, 3 months ago

I'd just like to acknowledge and publicly thank my awesome neighbour Tony for all the times he's gone out of his way to help me by plowing my driveway in the winter. I live on an inner street curve where because of how our snowplows navigate this curve, I always wind up getting the brunt of the street's snow (from either direction) dumped directly in front of my particular driveway. I'm at my wits end when this happens, as I am physically 'challenged' and barely able to manage the regular snow in my large(er) driveway...never mind the growing 'wall' of... Continue reading

  • Polar Vortex and Snow

    by Jennykins09 , 3 months ago

We recently moved to Alcona in July. Brand new subdivision and have the most thoughtful neighbour. Twice now without being asked he has removed the snow from the end of our driveway that the plow had left. Then last night as we were tucking our kids in bed we could hear him with his snowblower in our driveway. He even cleared the sidewalk. Amazing to have such a wonderful neighbour. Loving this community.

  • Stroud Snow Angel

    by Yvonne, 3 months ago

My neighbour across from my house on Richardson St. is a real snow angel.  He isn't always home, and often doesn't come home every night yet on the real nasty days when he is home and the plow has piled the end of my driveway with the nasty heavy snow I come home from work and it is all cleaned up.  My spouse is often away on the road so it is just myself cleaning up the snow so I truly appreciate the help!

  • Reward or not

    by JenPiercey, 3 months ago

My neighbour, Jeff, has been my snow angel for at least 10 years. He consistently comes and clears my driveway after a snowfall. I do not have to ask him, he simply just does it. I am so grateful for him and I try to reward him with homemade dinners for his family but I know he would do it anyway. I love the idea of this recognition and the community recognizing all the snow angels in town.

  • The Most Amazing Neighbor

by Karen Frank, 3 months ago

I used to (for 20 years) live in Gilford and have recently moved to Orillia.  That being said I noticed this Innisfil Program "Snow Angels" on the news and I am sending this note in regards to the MOST AMAZING neighbor next door to me back in Gilford.  Mr. Rob Pearson - on Bayshore Road had his snow blower on the go EVERY TIME it snowed and he did such a wonderful job on his own long driveway and then always did our long driveway as well.  No matter how long it snowed and how hard it endured.  He is...
