Consultation has concluded

The construction of the laneway improvements is scheduled to start mid-summer of 2020.

The laneway will be constructed as a one-way street connecting the 25th Sideroad to the existing extent of Raynor Court with traffic travelling in an east to west direction. Improvements to the laneway will include:

  • trees removed;
  • granular material placed;
  • catchbasins installed;
  • subsurface infiltration trenches installed; and,
  • hot mix asphalt placed.

During the daytime hours, local residents can anticipate loud noises, dust and vibration. Disruption to driveway and laneway access are also possible.

Residents travelling near the Raynor Court may experience travel delays and are expected to share roadways with construction vehicles. The general contractor will also be expected to control their operations in a reasonable manner to reduce impact to the public.

During this time, all involved with the project will be committed to closely monitor construction site conditions to ensure compliance with COVID-19 measures recommended by local, provincial, and federal health officials. Residents living near Raynor Court who have questions or concerns are kindly reminded to not approach the Contractor and to minimize direct contact with our project team.

    A section of Raynor Court has been treated as an unopened road allowance. To date, it has been utilized by residents but not maintained by the Town. In order for the Town’s Operations department to maintain the road to meet minimum maintenance standards, the laneway improvements are essential.

    The Town retained an Engineering Consultant to provide consulting services to complete a detailed design and provide contract administration services for the project.

    As part of the design process a Neighbourhood Drop-In was held on November 12th, 2019 at Town Hall. Residents local to the project were invited to be introduced to the design team, project drawings, and in return provide any questions or comments on the project.
