The Town of Innisfil is working with Stantec (formerly Morrison Hershfield) to improve Killarney Beach Road in Lefroy. Road and infrastructure improvement projects like this are essential for keeping our community safe and connected.


About the project

The project includes design upgrades to the following road sections:

  • Killarney Beach Road from 20th Sideroad to Ewart Street
  • Killarney Beach Road from Ewart Street to Barry Avenue (completed)
  • Pine Avenue from Killarney Beach Road south approximately 400 metres

The proposed roadway improvements are shown on the map below.

Construction updates

The Town of Innisfil has selected a contractor to complete the improvements to Killarney Beach Road. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2025 with completion expected in December 2026.

Construction is scheduled to resume in mid-April 2026. A road closure of Killarney Beach Road (from 20th Sideroad to Church Drive) is to be expected. For more information please see circulated construction notice. For details on the detour, please see Stage 1 of the Traffic Detour Plan.

    Updated mapping has been added to the document on this page. Vibration monitoring will be done as needed to mitigate potential issues.

    The closure from 20th to Church Dr. will be in effect until mid December. Scheduled works include a multi-use path, ditching improvements, storm sewers,  catch basins, culverts, and curbs and gutters.

    No sidewalks on Church Dr. are included in this project.

    No sidewalk is included in the improvements to Pine Street. Scope of work for this section is limited to road resurfacing,

    Hello and thank you for your Inquiry. Please see below response from the November 14th 2024 public open house, where this question was raised below:

    "Asphalt is the Town Standard for a multi-use path as it provides a smoother surface, free from cracks and bumps, softer on joints for walking and running, allowing for a greater usability across various user groups".

    This project includes the installation of a multiuse path on the north side of Killarney Beach Road.
