Consultation has concluded

"At the end of the day, our goal is to make the residents happy. We're being very sensitive to the fact that this space may be a sentimental one... one that you cherish and enjoy." - Meredith Goodwin, Project Manager

After hearing from Innisfil residents, the Town will be moving forward with the preferred option to "Take out the road, enlarge the beach area, and have no parking".

The design is now complete and will include the following enhancements:

  • A retaining wall on the north side of the park to allow a gradual slope for the enhancement of the beach
  • Additional sand
  • An accessible viewing platform at the entrance of the park
  • Picnic tables and benches
  • Drainage improvements
  • Large existing landscape rocks to remain and be protected.

You'll see that the design achieves the goal of balancing the enhancements with the natural landscape.

On June 3, 2020 Council approved a motion to restrict ice fishing access at Big Bay Point Road. Read the full report for details.

On June 23, 2021 Council approved additional funding for project. Read the full report for details.

Construction is scheduled for Fall 2021
