Consultation has concluded

The Town of Innisfil is re-imagining road ends to enhance our parks, add an element of wonder, and expand upon social spaces for the community to congregate and enjoy themselves. From the public meeting the design emerged from residents input and input received during the development of Innisfil's Official Plan - Our Place

The 9th line Road End improvements commenced construction in 2019

The park improvements are:

  • Removal of sections of asphalt at 9th Line road end and replacement with beach sand.
  • A new gate at end of 9th Line that can be opened for winter access to the lake.
  • Regrading of the existing park with new grass and an expansion of the beach sand area.
  • A new stormwater outlet
  • New benches and picnic tables
  • a New bike Rack
  • Gravel parking lot with 10 spaces. While many of you are a close walk to the park, this parking lot will allow easy access for people with mobility issues or families with small children

The photo above is a rendering of the park.

During construction in 2019 the design was changed slightly from the above rendering to avoid a watermain conflict, which resulted in moving part of the stormwater channel into the park. The open channel and stormwater pipes were included in the design to improve local drainage, the open channel with naturalized plantings was recommended by the Lake Simcoe Valley Conservation Authority for riparian habitat, birds and flowers for pollinators.

The park will be restored by July 2020 however you can expect to see some in water construction after July- these improvements will enhance the beach area, this construction is slightly delayed due to construction timing windows set by by the Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s (DFO).
