Snow Angels

Snow Angels is back! Our Snow Angels recognition program is back in full swing to promote winter safety and neighbours helping neighbours. We want to celebrate those neighbours you know and love - the ones who spend the extra time and go out of their way to help others after a snowfall. We also want to preserve the small-town charm in Innisfil. With a community as dispersed as ours, the on the ground local connection we have to one another is critical to not only our well-being, but our safety as well.

Want to help?
Do you have neighbours who may need assistance with shoveling their sidewalk or driveway? Or maybe you're just feeling extra helpful? Why not be a “Snow Angel” and shovel for them? This is a great way to get exercise, help out others, and be a downright awesome neighbour.

1. Your Story - Let us know how your neighbour rocks and why they deserve to be an official snow angel.
2. Package Delivery - Once you've shared your story, complete the form below to let us know where to send your recognition package. Once submitted, we will mail out your envelope to give to your snow angel!

Gilford is small and we love them all

by Deirdre, over 1 year ago

You see the above words when you travel into Gilford at 20th SR and Shore Acres Drive. Never truer words written. A couple of our neighbors have plowed out our driveway this winter. We love and thank them all to Dave Maclean and Jim Mosey. You and your lovely ladies are wonderful.

My husband has a heart condition and I have MS and your thoughtfulness is so appreciated. All our neighbors on Lindy Lane and beyond are wonderful. It is so true "It takes a village"

    A street of Angels!

by Queleigh, almost 2 years ago

There are 2 angels on my street!

My street is so fortunate to have 2 amazing, helpful and generous men, Dan and Dave, who have countless times helped neighbour after neighbour, whether they do the whole driveway, or the ends after the plow goes by... They do this without being asked, without asking for thanks or anything in return. Just simply neighbourly good will. Thank you guys, from one of the many houses you help!! ❤️

    Bus Stop Safety

by Ruthie, almost 2 years ago

I have been wondering who has been clearing these two paths on my street and then I saw a young woman shovelling in the middle of night after a storm, it was then I realized she shovels to maintain a safe bus stop with lots of small children. She shovels two safe paths to/from the sidewalk as there are no entrance areas, the sidewalk and the mailbox and the street where the children get on the box. After every snow it seems to be done. So many people benefit from her work. Thank you for keeping the children safe and... Continue reading

    Saved by Grace

by Brenda Wood, almost 2 years ago

The UPS man started up my walkway and turned around about halfway up. I ran to see why he didn't deliver my parcel and caught the horrified look on his face. He saw the two foot drift against my door, panicked and just took off!

After I posted this funny story on line, my next neighbors, Norm and Lorna came right over to dig me out! I was saved by their gracious kindness!!

    A Big Help

by Zubair, almost 2 years ago

Last night my neighbours son cleaned my drive way without lestting us know.

When I went out to clean the snow in the morning it was not as bad as I thought but much cleared already. I knew somebody did a favour but was not sure. Then his dad told me and I really felt thankful to the depth of my heart.

I want to convey my thanks to him through this portal.

    Regards,

    Zubair

    Snowed In

by ngraha, almost 2 years ago

We returned from a week-long vacation to a VERY snowed in driveway following a series of winter snow squalls. It was late at night and we were unable to park our cars in the driveway without shoveling snow. With the parking by-law, we weren't able to park our cars on the street overnight and we begrudgingly got to work.

To our pleasant surprise, our neighbours across the street saw our plight and came out with shovels in hand to help dig us out. We had just moved in a month prior, and hadn't had the pleasure of meeting these neighbours... Continue reading
