Snow Angels

Snow Angels is back! Our Snow Angels recognition program is back in full swing to promote winter safety and neighbours helping neighbours. We want to celebrate those neighbours you know and love - the ones who spend the extra time and go out of their way to help others after a snowfall. We also want to preserve the small-town charm in Innisfil. With a community as dispersed as ours, the on the ground local connection we have to one another is critical to not only our well-being, but our safety as well.

Want to help?
Do you have neighbours who may need assistance with shoveling their sidewalk or driveway? Or maybe you're just feeling extra helpful? Why not be a “Snow Angel” and shovel for them? This is a great way to get exercise, help out others, and be a downright awesome neighbour.

1. Your Story - Let us know how your neighbour rocks and why they deserve to be an official snow angel.
2. Package Delivery - Once you've shared your story, complete the form below to let us know where to send your recognition package. Once submitted, we will mail out your envelope to give to your snow angel!

    Gem of an Angel

by Shirley Kennedy, almost 2 years ago

Our neighbour just down the street, Morgan, deserves to be declared a snow angel as my husband and I have watched him clearing anyone's driveway who might need help for as long as he has lived in his current house. In fact, he could be declared a year round angel as he also cuts the grass of his elderly neighbours all summer long as well. This snow removal and grass cutting occurs even after having orthopedic surgery. He defies age and physical abilities.

    Greatful

by Selbudaiwi, almost 2 years ago

I’m currently on maternity leave and Home with 2.5 and 6 month old boys.  During the first snowfall my son noticed our driveway was shoveled and we were so greatful but didn’t know who to thank as we didn’t know who did it! The second big snowfall happened and we heard a snowblower so we went out to see and noticed our neighbour cleaning off our driveway BUT also did another neighbours .. that other neighbour was interested in possibly purchasing a snowblower after seeing his so he was taking the time out of his work day to not only... Such a good neighbour!

by ProudNana, almost 2 years ago

Our neighbour Kevin is our Snow Angel. Whenever there is a snowstorm and we are away from home, he shovels our driveway so the house has the appearance of someone being home. Many times we have come home from a trip to find our driveway freshly cleared. It is great to have such a caring neighbour in our neighbourhood. Thanks Kevin! We really appreciate what you do.

    Couldn't be more proud

by Sue, almost 2 years ago

My snow angel is my son, Chris Jennings.  Last year my mom was really sick and we had many appointments at all hours at hospitals and doctors offices in Newmarket.  He would come over, even for the 5:00 a.m. appointments and ensure that not only was the snow cleared, but would also help me get my mom into the car and load the wheelchair.  I could not have managed without him.  He did this all out of the goodness of his own heart, without being asked.  He continues this today, coming over and shovelling the driveway, and checking in to... ANGELS REALLY DO EXIST!

by chatty, almost 2 years ago

i know that for a fact because I have had a snow angel here on Glenn Ave for forty years or so.   My neighbours Wayne and Peggy Ayres live across the street from me.   They are the kind of people we all dream of having for neighbours with their friendly hello's and little chats.    They make sure that those around them know they can count on them for help with anything.

Wayne will always be out cleaning up my driveway no matter what the weather is like and I have never had to worry about being stuck in with a... Continue reading

    MY SPECIAL SNOW ANGEL

by Maggie Buck, almost 2 years ago

What would I do without her? She lives 2 doors down from me in Sandycove Acres where I have lived for 7 years. A few years ago, after a heavy snowfall I went out to clear my driveway. Guess what? It had already been done by my neighbour, who I had never really met, other than to say "HI". She would not accept payment at that time (although I have now convinced her to do so by pointing out that I would have to pay someone else to do it). She also makes sure to check other driveways on the... Continue reading

    Cookstown Snow Angel!

by CourtneyH, almost 2 years ago

Chris Hoffe is my husband, and such an amazing, hard worker and father of 4. He always takes time out of his day to make sure the neighbours on Wellington st have a shovelled driveway when they get home from work,  and will often go around other streets to help. Chris doesn't expect anything in return, he does it out of pure goodness, and i think recognizing him as a strong part of our community would make him so appreciated!

    The Nicest Neighbours

by Steven Robertson, almost 2 years ago

My story is about two of the nicest neighbours a man could ask for. Steve and Mary-Ellen always make an effort to be friendly and kind - never hesitating to lend a hand or even tools if ever needed. I want them to know that I am thankful to have them as my neighbours and their kindness doesn't go unnoticed!

Everytime there has been a snow storm over the countless years we have been neighbours, Steve has always made the effort to come across the road and make sure our driveway was ploughed too.

So grateful to have the nicest... Continue reading

    An awesome young man

by Jean M, almost 2 years ago

Tyler age 13 cleans my driveway either with a snowblower or with a shovel Even as a little fellow he helped his Dad do the job and now he does it on his own. I can always count on him to get the job done.

He is a busy young fellow with lots of sports and extra circular activities but always has time to do my driveway

He is a credit to our neighbourhood and he gets my vote for an amazing snow angel

    Thanks Tyler Routheut

    So grateful!

by Juliesandhar, almost 2 years ago

I am so fortunate to have my in-laws living a few doors away for so many reasons.

It’s not uncommon for me to hear the rumbling of my father in-law’s snowblower early in the morning as he comes to clear my driveway and brush off my car before I leave for work. He then goes up the road to clear my neighbours driveway too. Truthfully I should be the one clearing the snow for him. Sincerest thanks Roger Johnson. I am so grateful for my “Snow Angel”!!!
