Snow Angels

Snow Angels is back! Our Snow Angels recognition program is back in full swing to promote winter safety and neighbours helping neighbours. We want to celebrate those neighbours you know and love - the ones who spend the extra time and go out of their way to help others after a snowfall. We also want to preserve the small-town charm in Innisfil. With a community as dispersed as ours, the on the ground local connection we have to one another is critical to not only our well-being, but our safety as well.

Want to help?
Do you have neighbours who may need assistance with shoveling their sidewalk or driveway? Or maybe you're just feeling extra helpful? Why not be a “Snow Angel” and shovel for them? This is a great way to get exercise, help out others, and be a downright awesome neighbour.

1. Your Story - Let us know how your neighbour rocks and why they deserve to be an official snow angel.
2. Package Delivery - Once you've shared your story, complete the form below to let us know where to send your recognition package. Once submitted, we will mail out your envelope to give to your snow angel!

    The Best Neighbour

by David J Palmer, 9 months ago

About 12 weeks ago I had a case of Shingles which was very painful and uncomfortable. When my neighbour saw my drive still snow covered he cleared his drive and the mine. And every time since he has cleared our drive. Because Shingles just kept on way after I thought it would. So Thank You Rick Muise you are our "Snow Angel".

My good neighbor from far away

    by Suzi, 9 months ago

I have only lived in Innisfil for just over a year now, this is my second winter. My old neighbor Brian from Orillia. Believe it or not ? Still comes to do my driveway and walkway for me. He knows my back is unable to do it myself. Well Brian even got me an electric snow blower for my garage so that he no longer needs to transport his back and forth. Brian is an amazing man and I thank and cherish him so very much. I sure hope he knows how happy I am to have him in my... Continue reading

    Tyler is my snow angel

by Jean M, 9 months ago

Tyler Routheut is my snow angel

He is a high school student involved in sports, extra curricular activities and has many friends to keep him busy. However, he still takes time to shovel/snowblow my driveway as well as my deck, lift and steps. How does a young man grow up being so thoughtful and kind?

He follows the example set by his parents who are my awesome neighbours.

I am very fortunate to have the wonderful Tyler as my snow angel.

    Thanks Tyler

    SNOW ANGELS OF BOOTH AVENUE

Three weeks ago, I had surgery, and could not clear the snow from the driveway.

During this time, we had two major snow falls. My wife was going to hire a firm to clear the snow, when our snow angels arrived. First Lydia one day, cleared the snow, then Artur her husband the second day. Both are seniors, and they became our special snow angels.

In the time of crisis, it is special souls, who go beyond everything else. This is not the first time. they have helped us.

In life, you meet special people... Continue reading

    True snow angel

    by umcarla, 9 months ago

We just moved here a few months ago. We moved from a loud and very crowded city. Innisfil has shown us very friendly neighbours and a quiet and peaceful environment. We weren't expecting so much snow (to tell the truth) but we were blessed. We came to know our next door neighbours and he as been a true snow angel. Every time he plows his driveway he also comes to our driveway and cleans it for us. I am so blessed to have them as neighbours. Thank you so much!

    It takes a village!

    by bnrwood, 9 months ago

Here in Cookstown we believe that ’it takes a village’. Be it to raise children or to take care of your neighbours. We have been living next door to a family of ’Angels’ for the last 20 years. They are always there for us through the thick and thin.

This year Kerry and Harry Sharp have been just the best ‘Snow Angels’ that anyone could ever ask for. Knowing that our mobility is not what it use to be, they make sure that we are able to get out our driveway at all times.

So thank you for all that... Continue reading

    Bill Newton

by Rhonda Crocco, 9 months ago

My neighbour, Billy Newton is awesome! I moved in across the street from him in August of 2019. Even though we barely had time to meet, as soon as the snow hit, he was out in full force.

His wife Gail, would call out in the morning, " leave the shovel, Bill will do your driveway!". Amazing!

He hasn't let up. He continues to clear my driveway for me every time it is needed. I have noticed that he has also cleared his neighbour to the west as well.

His thoughtfulness and hard work really save me a ton of... Continue reading
