Reconstruction to Selby St, Evelyn St & Empress Lane were all approved for repair in the 2019/2020 budget. All three roads were also flagged in the Road Needs Study to support the need for gravel roads to be paved. We want to ensure that Innisfil residents in these areas are able to get from A to B as safely as possible. A notice to residents will be provided to residents along Selby, Evelyn, & Empress to make them aware of construction taking place. Please note that the design is complying with Heritage requirements as well as Town Standards and AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) requirements.
Selby Street Updates Include:
- Adding a sidewalk on north side of the street
- Incorporating a tactile walking surface at the intersection of King and Selby to comply with AODA requirements
- Adding two paved lanes in either direction
- Curb and gutter will be reinstated
Evelyn St & Empress Lane Updates Include:
- Paving of the entire street
- Adding a turnaround at the end of Evelyn St to accommodate large vehicles such as snow plows, emergency services and waste collection
How Will I Be Affected?
Design is ongoing and construction is planned for the Spring/Summer of 2021. There will be interruptions to traffic during construction with detours possible.
How Can I Comment?
Residents who wish to comment on the design drawings are able to do so below. All comments will be sent directly to our Engineering team. Should you have any questions on the projects, please feel free to reach out to Bobbi-Jo Duncan at bduncan@innisfil.ca.
