Project background:
The Town is giving some TLC to Reive Blvd from Hwy 89 to the 4th line. These updates include the installation of a bridge in replacement of double culverts. A retaining wall will also be replaced for a culvert on the 3rd Line as well. In addition, we'll be repaving from the end of the MTO construction work on Hwy 89 to the 4th Line.
The works to be completed in this project were recommended in the Town’s biennial bridge inspections as well as in the recent Final Engineer’s Report on the South Innisfil Creek Drain 2019 Improvement. The report recommended changes to improve the elevation, alignment, and hydraulic capacity of structure to help prevent upstream flooding in the market garden agricultural area. The current construction addresses these concerns. In addition, this stretch of Reive Boulevard was identified as requiring resurfacing in the 2018 Roads Needs Study and roadside safety improvements were identified through both the 2018 Roads Needs Study and the detailed design. The resurfacing and roadside safety upgrade works were incorporated into the design for this project and are being completed as part of this construction contract.
How will this affect residents?
There will be road closures in effect at varying times during the project and construction noise during the day. Advance notice will be given to residents as to detour routes to take.
If you have any questions about the project, please contact Bobbi-Jo Duncan, Capital Project Manager at bduncan@innisfil.ca
