Innisfil Goes Green

The Town of Innisfil wants to keep sustainability top of mind and we encourage you to be a part of this important culture shift as well. We want to have a larger conversation about sustainable practices and what we as a community can do to make Innisfil a greater and greener place to live.

As we develop policies, initiatives, and practice "going green," we want to know what kind of sustainable practices YOU would like to see the Town take action on. What more do you think we can do?

The Innisfil Seed Library is a volunteer-run program with locations at the Cookstown and Lakeshore Branches, and is free and open to everyone. Visitors can browse the selection of vegetable, herb and flower seeds, sign some out in our binder and grow them at home to enjoy. It’s that easy!

At the end of the growing season, we ask that seed borrowers return some seed at the end of the season and throughout the winter months to help replenish the stock. We offer seed saving workshops and a resource website, www.innisfilseedlibrary.ca, to help people properly return viable seeds. Click...

Did you know that we rely on pollinators like bees, birds, and butterflies for a third of the food we eat? To support our friendly, neighbourhood pollinators, the Library Lakeshore Branch has planted a garden just for them; full of the native plant species that they love.

Want to lend a hand? We're looking for Gardening Volunteers! All experiences levels are welcome.
