We have great facilities here in Innisfil, but sometimes they are under utilized and we need to rethink how we can provide the best value and services to our residents. Did you know that all buildings have life cycles? Constructed in 1975 the Stroud-Innisfil Community Center is one of our oldest facilities, and the Arena is under-used. There has been a decline in overall weekly prime time utilization rate of all of our ice pads from 90% to 84% over the past five years; and a further decline on weekends from 93% to 79%. Innisfil is providing a service level of one ice pad per 8,773 residents, which is the highest level of service among similar communities (the average service level is one ice pad per 15,134 residents).
The Active Innisfil Parks & Recreation Master Plan recommends an evaluation of the feasibility of continued use of our four indoor ice rinks. We need to hear from you! Tell us how you use the Stroud Arena and help us re-imagine what its future might be!
