Do you use Innisfil’s arenas, community centres, recreation centres, or theatre? Given the large population growth expected for Innisfil, the Town is working to decide how to best distribute resources across these facilities to maximize community benefit.
Facilities Master Plan
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Facilities Master Plan. This plan helps shape the next 30 years of Innisfil’s Town-owned facilities, including:

Churchill Community Centre
Knock Community Centre

Thank you for your inquiry. I am pleased to let you know that the Town is looking at adding tennis and pickleball facilities at the Cookstown Community Complex; funding has already been approved by Council and we are hoping to undertake design this year.
We are also looking at including pickleball facilities at additional locations within the Sandy Cove and Alcona neighbourhoods, subject to Council approval.

We have watched the YouTube video online, thank you for the presentation. Sorry we couldn't participate in the break out rooms. Here are some comments:
1. Innisfil Recreation Complex (YMCA) - is there a distintion between the YMCA and the rec. complex? It appears that you need a YMCA membership to use the facilities here. Is that not the case?
2. The nature trail (Rotary Trail) around the Innisfil Rec. Complex and Rizzardo Health Centre is a nice feature - we used it in the winter with our family, and enjoy biking in the summer. We would like to see more facilities for bike riding trails connecting buildings of interest in and around Innisfil. (Ones that could be used for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing in the winter, and bike riding in the summer).
3. Rizzardo Centre runs some excellent cooking programs, and nice community partnerships (e.g., outreach for seniors, filling the Troy Scott Community Fridges etc.)
4. Future planning - we will need another pool in the Innisfil Area besides the one current one at Innisfil Rec. Centre
5. A comment - as Innisfil Residents, we did not even know about some of these places until reading this list - we need more awareness that these places exist (even the Cookstown Theatre!). Perhaps more advertising at the Innisfil IdeaLab and Library, which is a great community hub, in addition to the Innisfil Beach Park, which gets lots of visitors in the nicer weather (summer) particularly.

Thank you for your comments! They will be passed along to the project team.
Regarding the terminology of the Innisfil Recreation Complex - the YMCA leases part of the Innisfil Recreation Complex for their activities, however, the Town owns the whole building, including the space used by the YMCA, the ice rinks, pro shop, and tuck shop, and other administrative and operational space.

What are the plans for 19 Queen Street - a town owned property which has been used by or at the discretion of the Cookstown and District Chamber of Commerce and Christmas for Kids for many years. Why was this not included in the master plan consultation?
